Overall Description:
Five Key Details To Quickly Identify Your Cat:
- Calico pelt
- Short fur
- Green eyes
- White paws
- Long, white whiskers
\\Body://
Just because Spottedsky is a medicine cat doesn't mean that blows by her paws can't pack a punch. Maybe she isn't the body-builder of the clan, but she isn't at all scrawny. Her muscles are smooth and roll beneath her pelt at the slightest impulse. Her reflexes could be one of a cat that chose to stride the warrior path that she turned down. Quick reflexes allow the medicine cat to snip delicate leaves with a strike of a claw, nab them up with a flick of her muzzle, and have her be on her merry way in moments. Grace might as well be Spottedsky's middle name according to her slightly loping, delicate stride. Just because you may be a warrior doesn't mean that you can pick on this medicine cat.
\\Pelt://
The colors of the forest melt along Spottedsky's flank. They dot her pelt and meld into each other as they slide alongside her fur. Rich browns, dark black, and soft creams dapple her pelt almost resembling the forest floor. Her brown fur sometimes fades into slight ginger colors, where it adopts a tabby-like pattern. The most prominent area like this on Spottedsky's body is her face, cheeks, and muzzle. Patches of fur that resemble the ginger-tabby pattern are also splattered alongside her sides. In areas along her body that are not covered in the ginger spots, black reigns mostly dominate, broken by a few flecks of white. The medicine cat's underbelly and underside of her muzzle is covered with creamy white fur. The majority of the fur that covers Spottedsky's body is short and thick in the leaf-bare moons.
\\Eyes://
Eyes are said to be the doors to your soul. This is not an exception in Spottedsky's case. Yes, her eyes can shine with any emotion under the rainbow, yet, sometimes the medicine cat has to shut these doors and latch them firmly. It is her duty to serve her clan, and she must not betray any emotion to her clanmates while she set about her work. She has to block them out because any sort of thing can send out an array of incorrect messages to an anxious clan cat. Just a gleam of an eye can send fear through a cat; even reassuring things might be reassuring another for the wrong reason.
Spottedsky sports eyes that, when she allows emotion to show, gleam even in the darkest nights. They are a swirl of leaf-green and light gold, twirling together towards her pupils. One might even say that they are pretty.
\\Other:// Spottedsky also boasts long, white whiskers over her face and a pink, pastel-hued nose.

How They Behave:
The lone wolf:
Spottedsky may seem like a lovable little feline at first, yet, underneath that sugarcoated exterior, this medicine cat likes her alone time. Sometimes, if she is not needed, she may just sit in her den or be out in the territory all day. If not for her ties with her clan, Spottedsky would fit the description of a loner. She isn't at all antisocial, just a cat that enjoys the serenity of being all by her lonesome.
The doer:
Never to run her gob, this she-cat does what needs to be done. She follows her heart and the path StarClan sets her on. Though the choices she has to make may go beyond the comfort levels of other cats, Spottedsky performs her duty well. If ever Spottedsky is in a situation with other cats and no one is willing to take authority, she will step up to the plate. This she-cat spends most of her time working on the clan, using her time effectively in every way.
The believer:
Spottedsky has a strong sense between what is right and wrong. She was always the kit that never budged even when taunted by her denmates to trek on a forbidden path. Spottedsky is the believer in the line between right and wrong, in StarClan and the mysterious ways in which they perform their business, the believer in every cat's potential. She sticks to the medicine cat code like glue, only straying in the most severe situations. Spottedsky verges on the border of hardheadedness when challenged on her beliefs. This medicine cat would never stray from the starry path that the believers follow.
The one with a level head:
Never one to let her heart interfere with her work, Spottedsky puts effort into the keeping of a level head. This is a quality that every medicine cat should be with. Spottedsky always keeps her heart as far away from her actions as possible.

The Past:
\\Kithood//
Spottedkit lead quite a normal kithood. Quite frankly, she never though she would do much more in her life than become a warrior like the rest of her littermates.
She was born on a charming new-leaf day; a day like any other. This was her mother's, a pretty queen named Dapplewing, second litter and almost nothing was thought of the kitting. Three mewling kits were successfully delivered by the medicine cat that day. One, a fiery orange tabby with white paws and muzzle. Second a small she-cat with brown tabby markings. And lastly, a tiny dappled she-kit with a pitiful mew. Yup. Spottedkit was the runt of the litter. Her mew might have been small, but she was strong. So, her gob wasn't run much but her paws were confident.
Much of her kithood was spent chasing littermates and pouncing on crackly leaves. She lived the life that one would expect of a kit. She never seemed to show any preference between the life of a warrior or the life of a medicine cat, which only seemed odd in the long run.
Spottedkit shared her life as a youngster with her two littermates, Foxkit and Silverkit. The trio were all playful and, like all kits should be, little trouble makers.
\\Apprenticeship//
Everything went Topsy-turvy for Spottedpaw in her apprentice moons.
She was selected to be a warrior apprentice, much to the pleasure of her parents. Spottedpaw didn't have much to put in for her opinion, she was very flexible as a kit and didn't understand the enormity of choosing between being an apprentice to either a warrior of medicine cat. Then again, she didn't have much of a say in that anyway. It was for higher authorities to choose.
It might have surprised some of the cats at this time that the medicine cat had, in fact, taken interest in this small she-cat from the day she was born. No cat beside that aging medicine cat knew what had drawn him to that scrap of fur, perhaps it was a dream, or maybe just the instincts of a medicine cat. This cat, Owltuft, could feel something special in the heart of this she-kit. He had informed the clan leader of this, yet, this is where it gets tricky. The medicine cat already had an apprentice. And his name was Sedgepaw.
Sedgepaw was only a few moons older than Spottedpaw and the two were once denmates. They were quite close and a terrible duo before apprenticeship split them apart. They had gone along each of their merry ways eventually in life, knowing that a Nursery friendship didn't always last through the apprentice moons. Spottedpaw had her littermates and Sedgepaw had his. During the first few moons of their apprentice life, neither Spottedpaw nor Sedgepaw were as close as they had been. After all, one was a warrior in training and the other was a to-be medicine cat. Yet their fates were intertwined in a terrible dance that only StarClan could foresee. And what a terrible dance this was indeed.
After Spottedpaw's first three moons of a warrior apprenticeship, the medicine cat of her clan received a sign, a sign from StarClan. It foresaw the destruction of a cat in his clan, and of the shrapnel that would harm the rest of the clan. Yet how this cat would be destroyed, it was unbeknownst to any-cat but StarClan. All that StarClan would whisper to Owltuft was that this cat would be a bracken colored tom.
Just like Sedgepaw.
Now, during these moons of her apprenticeship, Spottedpaw had indeed begun to mend her old friendship with Sedgepaw and often visited him in the medicine den. And she was there to hear Owltuft rasp out the prophecy concerning her clan. It was on one of those rare occasions in which StarClan almost reached through Owltuft and into the walking world to recite their predictions. It was as though they meant for her to have the information. Only the senders know if they were truly stretching out for the she-cat or not. Spottedpaw sure didn't.
Now Spottedpaw was scared. Scared for clan. Scared for the tom who would fulfill this prophecy. And she had enough sense in her nine-moon old mind to be able to figure out the cat whom would be at the mercy of this will of StarClan. She could put two and two together, even at a young age.
Destinies collide Friendships abide One of bracken One of shade Never to receive A warrior name
Sedgepaw was of bracken, then who was of shade?
Of course she has to play a role in this prophecy more than just as the messenger. Spottedpaw still had to make her first move of the dance.
Over the next moon, only a select few in the clan knew of the prophecy. Yet, why would StarClan send a prophecy to a clan in perfect health? They were in no need of assistance. Yet, perhaps, something was amiss beneath their very noses. And it was, in fact, their apprentices that were amiss.
Assigned to the wrong mentor, it would seem. Yet, StarClan knew that Sedgepaw wouldn't do as a medicine cat and that Spottedpaw was always destined for it. Yet, amongst all the chaos that ensued, during all the strife, Spottedpaw felt something tug in her gut that she had never felt before. Love. No, not the love of a family member or the close bond that one forms with your mentor; it was the love for someone else. The love of your friend that you would never admit until the time of darkness comes.
Of course, go fall in love with the medicine cat apprentice, Spottedpaw. You dunce.
In a moon, both Spottedpaw and Sedgepaw were stripped of their apprentice-hood and switched places in the clan. Spottedpaw took the role of the medicine cat apprentice and Sedgepaw took the one as a warrior apprentice. And though the conflict seemed resolved, it was only for a moment. You would think that the apprentices would feel odd. Stripped from their lives at a moment's notice. They didn't even have a say in it. Yet, it didn't drive the two further apart, quite frankly, it was the opposite. It drove the two together; painfully close. Well, it wouldn't have been painful if one of them wasn't a medicine cat in training. Give a cheer for forbidden love.
It was strange for Spottedpaw. She had always been happy-go-lucky before the commotion of the last moon. Before the prophecy and love. Before the chaos. She had to grow up too fast. Only ten moons into her life and she has had to face the extremes of life. The only thing left for her to feel was true loss. Go knock on wood. Now.
After four months of peace in the clan, terrible border skirmishes broke out along every inch of border territory. During these four months, Spottedpaw and Sedgepaw had housed a secret affection for each other. Though no major steps were ever reached in their 'relationship,' a soft brush of the muzzle might have been exchanged every once and a while. Or perhaps nervous purring might be observed if you studied them closely while they happened to be gazing at each other. Everyone though that their closeness was because of their friendship, yet, it was something so much bigger than that.
Back to he border skirmishes.
Sedgepaw was a warrior in training now. So, one day he went off to battle. More of a patrol than anything, yet it turned out to be a battle.
ThunderClan was always edgy with their borders. One day they became a little too edgy. A few sour words exchanged between patrols transformed into a skirmish, then a fully fledged battle. And Sedgepaw was injured. Badly. A gash across his flank allowed him to be swiftly towed back to camp before bleeding to death at Spottedpaw's feet. With his last breath, he confessed his love for the medicine cat apprentice that stood before him. Tears welled in Spottedpaw's kind eyes. She had lost the only cat she could ever love. When the tears finally receded, her eyes were steely and harsh; no longer kind and forgiving.
Sedgepaw died only a day before his Warrior Ceremony.
Never to receive a warrior name.
Sound familiar?
\\Medicine Cat//
Spottedsky's eyes softened again with age. She took up the full position of Medicine Cat when her mentor passed on to StarClan after a bought of greencough. She has manned the position of Medicine Cat alone for five moons and expects to pick up an apprentice in the near future. Only, she hopes that her successor had a less painful experience than her.
Spottedsky never speaks of Sedgepaw. She only shares her dreams with him.
